The ideal family weekend is one where no one gets bored, and that is perfectly possible in and around Roosendaal. Be sure to check in at Hotel Otium, a modern hotel close to the outlet with spacious family rooms and, as an added bonus, a super nice wellness area at the affiliated Vitae Wellness Resort. Kids watch TV in their room for a bit, grandpa and grandma babysit, parents grab a quick sauna: everyone happy. After check-in, you head into the outlet, and you can have lunch without leaving the premises, at La Place of Wagamama.

In the afternoon waits Playdôme Roosendaal, a large indoor entertainment hall full of lights, music, and competition. Our favorite? Axe throwing. But hyperbowling, shuffleboard, and go-karting are also great, and when the weather is nice, there is an outdoor terrace with a playground. In the evening, you eat at The Hay House, a wooden restaurant among the trees with a great menu that makes both children and parents happy. The next day: first, let off steam in the Vrouwenhof Park (cable cars, climbing frames, water zones; a small holiday park in the middle of the city), then racing across the ice in the electric ice karts of SnowWorld Rucphen. And just before you head home: artisanal ice cream at Gerda's Ice Cream Farm, to be eaten with a view of the sheep. The icing on the cake.
