Hello I'm Local Haarlem
Since Adele we can't 'hellowwww' no longer hear, nor pronounce, without singing. A cheerful note for the gentlemen behind the Hello I'm Local hostel in Haarlem, which they can't do anything about. The hostel is also quite cheerful, a wonderfully uncomplicated place in a residential area in Haarlem, about a 10-minute walk from the city center. 10 minutes seems quite long, but honestly the walk itself is a gift (even in the rain). Because while we, as non-Haarlem residents, usually explore the city from cafe to cafe, in this case you walk from the Central Station to Hello I'm Local, exactly that beautiful route along water and canal houses. The hostel, recovery, boutique hostel - and we can totally agree with that because Hello I'm Local is blessed with the three K's: small, handsome and cozy - has 12 rooms. For two, three, four, eight or fourteen people, all named after a typical Dutch acquaintance, location or concept. The VOC room, for example, with a collection of maps above your bed, the Underplaced Child room, with a blue box bed and the Johannes Enschede room. The latter is also for two, but be careful when booking; For example, the Johannes Enschede does not have its own toilet (but it is in the hallway, right opposite the room, so the child can do the laundry). And, one of the most important reasons to book a hostel, besides the price, is the coziness in the living room; also at Hello I'm Local: stick around for coffee, a simple breakfast (cheese sandwich! we like. But also eggs and currants. Bonus points), lunch (croquette sandwich!) or drinks (order a board for at least 4 people with wine or beer, veggie or meat). This summer you can enjoy it in the cozy country estate, with a fireplace. There is also a kitchen at the back of the hostel, near the night entrance; You can also prepare your own treats.
