But, they all have one thing in common and that is that they are the nicest places where you can spend the entire evening.
Also looking for a nice place to eat? A list full of delicious new Amsterdam restaurants
On to Hasta La Vista Baby! Part of the INNSide Hotel by Mélia on the Zuidas. Here you will find a rooftop bar with restaurant on the nineteenth floor. Completely in keeping with the elegant Hollywood theme with a combination of Spanish influences, with a really lovely mix of red and pink tones, velvet fabrics and lots of gold accents. A very cool combo. And then with the skyline of Amsterdam, what more could one want? Plus you get hit with that casual Spanish fine dining concept (almost) did not eat out, and that view is not boring either. So the spot for a wonderful evening out.
Indoor Hotel Jakarta (you know, that hotel with an indoor rainforest) cocktail bar Malabar is located on the ninth floor. First of all, the name is nice: named after the volcano of the same name on Java, and that word already contains the word bar, so it fit perfectly with this bar with pizzazz. The menu includes adventurous and fiery cocktails, but also plenty of classics. Here Amsterdam and Indonesian Java merge with a good mix of cultures, blend of styles and flavors with a view over the IJ and vibrant Amsterdam.
The regular service used to depart to Jakarta, where Hotel Jakarta is now located. A special and sustainable hotel that is completely inspired by the historical bond between the Netherlands and Indonesia.
In the Andaz Hotel used to be Bluespoon, but now there is Prins & Aap. Here it is all about accessibility, meeting new people and especially conviviality. It is the best of a bar and bistro in one. All cocktails are created with great care by the international top bartender Nikos Bakoulis. And he does that very well, but you should definitely take a look for the interior, because it is from the seventeenth century.
The name Prins refers to the location on the Prinsengracht and Aap is the abbreviation of Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht and emphasizes the naughty character of this place. A very nice new addition to Amsterdam!
You will find Half Moon Lounge on Apollolaan in Oud-Zuid near Hilton. A cozy, intimate bar with a ship theme. This place takes you back in time with the old-fashioned chic interior and gives you the feeling as if you are on a boat. They have a nice 'sip your music' concept, where you can determine which cocktail you will receive based on your hearing.
They are open daily from 09.00am to 00.00am so you can stay there all day to have lunch, relax or just have a cup of coffee.
At Barbue, European and South American cultures come together in a beautiful bar: lots of light, dark wood, cozy seats, a really nice place. It is inspired by 'bares notables' from Buenos Aires. Bares Notables is an attempt by BA to preserve historic buildings in their glory. These historical atmospheres appear exactly the same in Barbue.
Barbue can be found in the old Lloyd building on Amsterdam's Oostelijke Handelskade, where the new one now stands Hoxton Hotel East houses. The building itself also has history, because it used to be where the counters were located to purchase a boat trip from Amsterdam to South America, where most passengers left for Buenos Aires. The original counters are part of the bar. A tip for the best spirits or for cocktails with local vermouth and brandy.
Bar Brasserie Occo is located in the beautiful The Dylan. It is beautiful from the outside, but perhaps even more beautiful on the inside with the striking gold lamps, the blue stone bar and the wooden and blue furniture combined. At this brasserie they are at home in all facets; breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Everyone is welcome and can join. The food has been carefully selected with only the best ingredients and looks good. In the summer you can sit in the courtyard. So hop, hop, to the Keizersgracht!
Maybe Luminair at DoubleTree Hilton the place with the most beautiful view (although we should not forget Malabar and Hasta La Vista either). In any case, it is the place to dream away for a while. Truly a location that is simply beautiful and where you want to go. For the view, for the decor, but also absolutely for the cocktails and the food. When the weather is nice, you can take a seat on the terrace, where you (sometimes literally) end up in the clouds. Not for nothing the bar above Amsterdam. You can sit there all day long, during the day, in the evening and in the weekend even at night (until 03.00), but a tip is to go during sunset. Everything then turns so beautifully in orange and pink. Where to go? Luminair in Doubletree by Hilton right next to Amsterdam Central Station.
Friendly person, homely feeling, beautiful interior? Check, check, check. The Lobby in Hotel V Fizeaustraat has it all. Nice for a drink, an aperitif before dinner or just to lounge in the lovely soft sofas. The vibe is seventies flower power and this comes back with the mossy tones, golden elements, cozy seating areas with lots of plants and the peace sign here and there as an ode to the 70's. Real wine lovers will also get their money's worth here, with more than 600 bottles of wine in the cellar (and plenty of choice by the glass). Cheers!
Not in the center of Amsterdam, but within walking distance of Amstel station.
On the Keizersgracht, three old characteristic rooms form the decor of the bar Pulitzer. A great hotel bar: top service and that we-love-working-here mentality. Here you can relax, enjoy yourself all evening, have a drink within reach and enjoy the view of the canals.
Pulitzer is certainly one of our favorite hotels in Amsterdam. That is not without reason: the location is great, the hospitality is on and the looks are enviable. And so they continue to open gems: two good restaurants, a nice bar, and now also The Beauty House, which you will undoubtedly want to know more about.
At bar The Tailor you can drink cocktails that are not available anywhere else. For example, they serve cocktails with tobacco bitters and special perfumes. So things are going well here, surprising those taste buds.
In 2019, The Tailor was named the best creative hotel bar in Amsterdam, and maintains the old craft of founder AW Krasnapolsky. The love for tailoring runs like a common thread throughout the menu, and is reflected in the chic interior.
It is located around the corner from Central Station Super Lyan, in a historic 17th-century Dutch house on the canals, with a colorful 50-year design inside. You don't make a reservation here, you just walk in for the tastiest cocktails. Oh and don't forget to have a bite on the side, because they are also very good.
Moreover, at Super Lyan you can rent the Livingroom for a maximum of 25 people. A really nice place for a private party!
