Pure food and warm coziness at restaurant Moose in The Hague
New in The Hague: Restaurant Moose. Located on the Kazernestraat, near the Denneweg and Lange Voorhout in the centre of The Hague—perfect after a visit to the museum or theatre night. This is the place for those who love pure food, cosiness in an informal setting and dishes that are just a little bit different.
Whether you come for a drink with friends or to celebrate something special, Moose is the right place for you.
The menu at Moose is simple and yet very special. They work with high quality ingredients, with the wood oven as their secret weapon. The wood oven not only adds a smoky flavour to the dishes, but also gives them a special, earthy twist. Sounds complicated, but just taste it the way to go. From roasted vegetables to baked fish and meat (and imagine that smoky flavor). And that without any frills, because here it is mainly the flavor that speaks for itself.
What makes it even more special is that the menu is completely renewed every two to three months and follows the seasons. We even got the salsify – a vegetable you don’t often see on menus – that goes perfectly with crispy kale and a cheese cream. An unexpected combination that is definitely worth it. And this is just one of the many dishes we would come back for.
And what is a good dinner without wine? Yes, that's what we thought too.. The wine list is carefully composed, full of surprising bottles from lesser-known wine regions in Europe.
Restaurant Moose is small but nice, which means that the attention for the guests is really central - and you notice that. The interior is modern, at the same time warm and homely, with soft green tones, which brings a kind of calm atmosphere to the space. The open kitchen completes it. When the sun is shining (party!), you can relax outside on the terrace.
