Get a breath of fresh air together on the Veluwe 10 times
Of course you can Apeldoorn to explore, and also the city Deventer is a stone's throw from the Hoge Veluwe, the most beautiful, largest and greenest area in the Netherlands. But you can also dive into that nature reserve and look for all the fun that lies between the trees and the heath.
The Uilenbos is originally a pancake house that has been around for seventy years and that is just as amazing as it sounds. The site was completely renovated during the past lockdown and is a dream for every child. On the fully fenced site (nice and safe) you will find a giant indoor and outdoor playground. With playhouses for the little ones, a car track for the toddlers and a cable car for the little ones.
At the back of the site you will find a petting zoo with goats, rabbits and pigs who all love to be cuddled. Relax outside on the picnic benches, which are very clearly and conveniently located directly opposite the playground. On a rainy day you can sit inside the cozy restaurant. You only see the kids when the pancakes are served. When the bellies are full and the kids are back on the playground equipment, it's time for you. Read more about Het Uilenbos
Pavilion de Posbank, without 't', is an essential pit stop for lunch or a drink during a walk through the area, and has been so since 2002. Back then it was still a tea house, but that soon became no longer sufficient. The large glass building in the heart of the Posbank nature reserve is a beautiful sight and rightly an attraction. Upon entering you immediately encounter a large rock in which the stairs are incorporated, a beautiful moment to look around you: there is glass everywhere you look, with nature as a background. The menu is fixed, nice and clear, with everything you need after some time outdoors: hot chocolate, a cold beer or a glass of good wine, tomato soup, oversized snacks, grandmother's meatball, a club sandwich and farmhouse bread with a burger or a croquette. Please note: Pavilion de Posbank closes every day around five o'clock in the afternoon, in winter even at four o'clock as it is located in the middle of a quiet area. And after sunset, that silence comes on.
Hidden B&B… And yes, the place is hidden. Both in terms of fame (for us – but ain't no more) and that the mini campsite is completely hidden in the beautiful, typically Dutch environment. Because the Netherlands always turns out to be more beautiful than we thought. Owner Ellen, who runs her outdoor paradise with a lot of love and care, does not have a fancy website or flashy photos, if you start looking right away. A basic site is all it takes, nothing more is actually necessary. Just send an email if you want to come, transfer some money and your booking will be made. Child can do the laundry.
Just outside the Veluwe, on the edge of the (very beautiful) town of Barneveld, you will find De Happy Farm, a friendly playground with a petting zoo where the little ones can play to their heart's content. And… You can ride a real pony! This is possible on the left side of the outside area between 14.00:15.00 PM and 1,00:XNUMX PM. Provided the weather permits of course. A quite unforgettable ride for the little ones costs €XNUMX per lap.
In Apeldoorn you can indulge yourself at Playground Park Berg en Bos, a great playground where pigs roam and where a theater company regularly attends (during the summer months)!
About an hour and a half from Rotterdam, an hour from Amsterdam and just over half an hour from Utrecht, you will find Family hotel Mooi Veluwe where you can sleep comfortably and very cheaply. This family hotel is located in the middle of the woods about ten minutes from the city center of Putten. And that is exactly what we are looking for. Right? In the middle of the woods and yet plenty of restaurants and entertainment in the area.
If you want something different, think about it The Weaver Lodge in Otterlo, or search for one of the accommodations on the Veluwe out in this article. Success assured!
Well, one weekend in Veluwe of course you can't do without a nice walk. The Hoge Veluwe is one of the 20 national parks in our country. And the Veluwe is one of the largest. The forests, heathlands and drifting sands are perfect to freshen up your nose. One of the story walks great fun with the kids!

Palace Het Loo
It was once a real royal one property, but it has been open to the public for more than thirty years. And so it was time to renovate Paleis Het Loo. The palace is closed to the public until 2021, but the gardens, stables and restaurants are open from March 30 to September 30.
Boshuis Drie Ermelo
You can take that brisk walk from your hotel in the direction Forest House Three. Reaching this 17th century former farm in the woods is your mission for a hot chocolate with whipped cream. A lunch and dinner menu with golden oldies such as wild mushroom soup, croquettes on bread, pancakes and all kinds of game are ready.
Garage Royal
This restaurant is located on the Koningsweg estate, a former army base that was transformed into a cultural enclave. A dream place, in the middle of the woods.
